Join the Dialing Congress Campaign! (a.k.a. The Grand Canyon Project) Members make monthly phone calls to their Members of Congress, receive monthly email reminders to call, helpful information and a means to report their calls.
How To Info
The CCL Way is to communicate with our Members of Congress with appreciation, respect, and persistence. The golden rule is Treat your elected officials the way you want them to treat your concern.
Call your representatives between 8:00 am and 4:00 PM CST to get the best chance of reaching a person.
Every call should include the following parts:
Your name and where you are from. Ask if they need your address to confirm you are a constituent.
A recent climate concern or perspective. You can share a personal experience or comment on recent events. There are some recent articles of concern below.
An ask. We continue to support the House bill, HR763, the Energy Innovation and Carbon dividend act, and still need a companion bill in the Senate. Ask our Senators to sponsor or help find sponsorship for the bill.
Have a conversation if you can. Ask what the Senators’ thinking is on approaches to the changes in climate. Find out who they’ve been talking to across the aisle if you can, and ask them to raise the issue of climate to their colleagues across the aisle.
THE BILL: Remember, it is effective at reducing emissions, good for people, good for the economy, bipartisan, and revenue neutral.
Log your calls. It helps and encourages our team! You will receive a link for doing so in your call reminder email.
